By harnessing the power of superposition and entanglement (a phenomenon where the state of one qubit is interconnected with the state of another), qubits can exponentially increase computational capabilities when compared to classical computers.
In a quantum computer, qubits are typically realized using quantum systems such as atoms, ions, or superconducting circuits. These physical systems are carefully manipulated to create and manipulate qubits, enabling quantum computation.
One challenge in working with qubits is their fragility and susceptibility to errors caused by noise and decoherence. Researchers are actively developing error correction methods to mitigate these issues, paving the way for the realization of practical and robust quantum computers.
