QKD

Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) is a secure communication method that uses principles of quantum mechanics to establish a secret key between two parties. This key can then be used to encrypt and decrypt messages, guaranteeing secure communication.

  • Quantum Mechanics: QKD relies on the principles of quantum mechanics, such as the uncertainty principle and quantum superposition, to ensure the security of key distribution.
  • Security: One of the main advantages of QKD is its high level of security. Due to the principles of quantum mechanics, any attempt to eavesdrop on the key distribution process would disturb the quantum state, alerting the communicating parties.
  • Key Distribution: In QKD, two parties share a complex sequence of quantum bits (qubits) that form the secret key. This key can then be used in conventional cryptographic algorithms for secure communication.
